Ron Bell was born into the hotel industry in Blackpool and with the exception of nine years spent serving in the Royal Marines he has lived in the town all of  his life. He was educated at Waterloo Primary and Tyldesley Secondary Modern schools.
Since leaving the Royal Marines he has worked in a number of senior board positions with blue chip companies, primarily in Sales and Marketing but also in Training and Operations. Additionally he successfully ran his own management consultancy before retiring into the property and investment arena.
Ron's involvement in working for the local community is widespread and as well as his duties as a Ward Councillor he has spent over five years as a Member of the Independent Monitoring Board at Kirkham Prison and  also serves as a School Governor and a Magistrate. Additionally he sits on the Boards of Blackpool Coastal Housing, Blackpool & the Fylde College, Blackpool Improvement District and Blackpool Fylde & Wyre Credit Union

He is Chairman of the Fylde Ex service Liaison Committee and a founder of the Blackpool branch of the Royal Marines Association and in addition to supporting a number of charitable institutions he holds a number of other non paid Directorships.

Ron is married to Brenda and they have three daughters, Yvonne, Kerry and Melanie and in his spare time he enjoys reading, most sports. Ron’s first loves however are Blackpool FC where he and Brenda can be seen at most home games and his membership of the ex-service community, particularly the Royal Marines Association where he holds the post of Secretary at Regional level and is also a Council Member and Trustee at national level.
